OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm from amputations. a. 4182 Bergen Turnpike North Bergen, NJ (Colonna Brother Inc. Collection Site) On or about September 28, 2016, and at times prior thereto and thereafter, refuse collection employees engaged in rear loading and unjamming operations from vehicle#30 were exposed to amputation injuries as the operators finger entered a 5 centimeter service opening during the compacting cycle; the service opening was uncovered and unlabeled. Violation occurred on or about 09/28/2016
