29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: Workplace, NJ Route 440 and 22nd Street, Bayonne, NJ a) Employees walked and worked on steel beams approximately 20 inches in width performing oil skimming of the contaminated water inside of Launching and Receiving Pit immediately South of NJ Route 440, also known as the "center isle," or PB-1, approximately 14 feet from the bottom of the pit. One such worker was not protected by a guardrail system or personal fall arrest system and fell into the pit sustaining serious injury. Condition noted on or about 10-4-16
