29 CFR 1960.8(a): The Agency head did not furnish employment and a place of employment to each employee that were free from recognized hazards that caused or were likely to cause death or serious physical harm: (a) Date of Violation: On or about 10-17-2016, and times prior thereto, located at Fleet & Family Support Center, Building U111at 1221 Bellinger Blvd. Naval Station Norfolk, VA 23511, Condition: Employee(s) were exposed to the hazard of mold in work spaces and corridors, exposing employees to potential onset of allergic reactions, asthma attacks, and exacerbation or aggravation of allergies, asthma and other health conditions. The employer did not implement adequate measures to prevent active mold growth in the building. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employee(s) and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
