29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(ii): The point of operation of machines whose operation exposes an employee to injury, shall be guarded. The guarding device shall be in conformity with any appropriate standards therefor, or, in the absence of applicable specific standards, shall be so designed and constructed as to prevent the operator from having any part of his body in the danger zone during the operating cycle. a) Main shop area: On or about October 31 2016, and at times prior, the employer exposed the employees to a Point of operation hazard in that a method of guarding on the sheer was not sufficient to prevent employees from injury during set up and operation. b) Main shop area left side/ The employer exposed employees to a caught in hazard in that guards were not installed on the drill presses while employees were drilling holes.
