On or about November 3, 2016, at the Custom Fabrication and Equipment facility- employees were exposed to point of operation or other serious injuries from the horizontal bandsaw, in that the unused portion of the bandsaw blade was not covered or guarded to prevent injuries to hands and or fingers. Abatement certification for this item is not required.

29 CFR 1910.243(c)(1): Abrasive wheel(s) were used on portable grinder(s) which were not provided with safety guard(s) meeting the requirements specified in 29 CFR 1910.243(c)(1) through (c)(4)(a): On or about November 3, 2016, at the Custom Fabrication and Equipment Facility -employees were exposed to serious lacerations and or struck-by injuries, in that the Hitachi Portable Hand Grinder did not have a 180 degree guard that protected hands from the cutting wheel. Abatement certification is required not for this item.
