Materials or equipment were placed, either permanently or temporarily, within the exit route.    a) Commercial Laundry at 521 Black Horse Pike in Turnersville, NJ, 08012- Loading Dock Area: Employees worked in the facility where exit access was blocked by the storage of laundry in mobile carts and exit access was restricted less than required by the standard, observed on or about 10/24/16.     NOTE: BECAUSE ABATEMENT OF THIS VIOLATION IS ALREADY DOCUMENTED IN THE CASE FILE, THE EMPLOYER NEED NOT SUBMIT CERTIFICATION OR DOCUMENTATION OF ABATEMENT OF THIS VIOLATION AS NORMALLY REQUIRED BY 29 CFR 1903.19.

29 CFR 1910.147(c)(1): The employer did not establish a program consisting of an energy control procedure, employee training and periodic inspections to ensure that before any employee performed any servicing or maintenance on a machine or equipment where the unexpected energizing, startup or release of stored energy could occur and cause injury, the machine or equipment shall be isolated from the energy source and rendered inoperative:    a) Commercial laundry at 521 Black Horse Pike in Turnersville, NJ, 08012- Throughout facility: Employees worked on machinery while it was still energized and the employer did not follow a lock-out/ tag-out procedure, occurred on or about 10/24/16.     NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.

29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:    a) Commercial laundry at 521 Black Horse Pike in Turnersville, NJ, 08012- Dryer Operation Area: employees operated dryer machinery where machine guarding was not provided including but not limited to the in-running nip points created by linear motion at the point of operation at the  front of the dryer; and rotating parts to the side of the operation station where jams would be cleared, observed on or about 10/24/16.     NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.

NOTE: BECAUSE ABATEMENT OF THIS VIOLATION IS ALREADY DOCUMENTED IN THE CASE FILE, THE EMPLOYER NEED NOT SUBMIT CERTIFICATION OR DOCUMENTATION OF ABATEMENT OF THIS VIOLATION AS NORMALLY REQUIRED BY 29 CFR 1903.19.
