29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(ii): The point of operation of machines whose operation exposes an employee to injury, shall be guarded. The guarding device shall be in conformity with any appropriate standards therefor, or, in the absence of applicable specific standards, shall be so designed and constructed as to prevent the operator from having any part of his body in the danger zone during the operating cycle: LD/Cutter Department, Reliable 7000FE End Cutting Machine (SN 320059): On or about November 4 through November 10, 2016, employees operating the machine on an 8 foot long track by pushing it back and forth between them to cut filter fabrics were exposed to contact with the spinning cutter blade due to inadequate guarding at the point of operation. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
