29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(6): Ladders were used on surfaces which were not stable and level. a) 146 NJ Route 17 North, Hasbrouck Heights, Exterior South Side of Building. The employer did not ensure that ladders were used on surfaces which were stable and level. Employees are exposed to a fall hazard due to using a ladder placed on an unstable surface. Employees were found working on an approximately 6 foot A-frame ladder, that was placed on a platform mounted to the roof of a work van. The employees were installing a sign, and were making the final electrical connections while working on the ladder, on or about November 17, 2016. There is no abatement documentation or certification required for this item.
