29 CFR 1915.56(b)(2): Welding cable was not free from repair or splices for a minimum distance of 10 feet from the cable end to which the electrode holder was connected. (a) Date of Violation: On or about 11-23-2016 and times prior thereto, VT Milcom, Inc. was located at General Dynamics - Nassco Norfolk 200 Ligon Street Norfolk, VA 23523; onboard USS Oak Hill, in the main Radio Room, space 04-30-0-C, an employee was exposed to an electric shock hazard while using a welding lead with a damaged area of cable with exposed electrical conductors covered by electrical tape within 17 inches of the electrode holder. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employee(s) and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
