Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.      On November 17, 2016, at 250 W. Social Row, Centerville,  a multi-single story commercial building under construction, a roofer was exposed to a 14 ft. fall hazard while installing shingles on a 6/12 pitched roof and was not protected from falling while on the roof he removed his fall arrest harness and lanyard, tripped over an air hose and fell to the ground, fracturing his arm and pelvis.
