29 CFR 1910.132(a): Protective equipment was not used when necessary whenever hazards capable of causing injury and impairment were encountered:  a.  15 Huntington Road, Athens, GA (Kitchen Area) - Employees were exposed to thermal workplace hazard.  The employer did not provide personal protective equipment to prevent hot grease from spilling onto the cooks upper body carrying a metal bucket of hot grease. The employees/cooks were required to change out the 350 degrees hot liquid grease, when needed, and transport/haul the hot liquid outside to the grease dump area to be poured into the dump for recycling pickup, on or about December 1, 2016.

29 CFR 1910.133(a)(1): Protective eye equipment was not required where there was a reasonable probability of injury that could be prevented by such equipment:  a.  15 Huntington Road, Athens, GA (Kitchen Area) - Employees were exposed to thermal workplace hazard. The employer did not provide personal protective equipment, such as eye protection which will prevent hot grease from splashing into the employees/cooks eyes while carrying a metal bucket of hot grease. The cooks were required to change out the 350 degrees hot liquid grease, when needed, and transport/haul the hot liquid outside to the grease dump area to be poured into the dump for recycling pickup, on or about December 1, 2016.

29 CFR 1910.138(a): The employer did not select and require employee(s) to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands were exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasion:  a.  15 Huntington Road, Athens, GA (Kitchen Area) - Employees were exposed to thermal workplace hazard. The employer did not provide personal protective equipment, such as hand protection (thermal resistance gloves) to the cooks which will prevent hot grease from spilling onto the cooks hands when carrying a metal bucket of hot grease. The cooks were required to change out the 350 degrees hot liquid grease, when needed, and transport/haul the hot liquid outside to the grease dump area to be poured into the dump for recycling pickup, on or about December 1, 2016.  b.  15 Huntington Road, Athens, GA (Kitchen Area) - Employees were exposed to lacerations hazards. The cooks/food prep employees were not provided hand protection (cut resistance gloves) when handling the sharp knives to cut-up food for preparation, on or about December 1, 2016.

29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1): The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment (PPE):  a.  15 Huntington Road, Athens, GA (Kitchen Area) - Employees were exposed to thermal workplace hazard.  The employer did not conduct an assessment to determine the type of hazards located at the jobsite and the appropriate personal protective equipment to be utilized when working around the jobsite hazards, such as cleaning, changing out, and hauling the 350 degrees hot liquid grease, when needed, on or about 12/01/16.
