29 CFR 1926.850(j): Except for the cutting of holes in floors for chutes, holes through which to drop materials, preparation of storage space, and similar necessary preparatory work, the demolition of exterior walls and floor construction did not begin at the top of the structure and proceed downward.     a)  1301 13th. St., NE, Northeast Corner of Building - On or about November 6, 2016, the project demolition contractor undercut the top two floor of a twelve story building and removed all the floors beneath the tenth story floor deck thereby failing to demolish the building from the top floor down.    No abatement certification or documentation required for this item.

29 CFR 1926.859(g): During demolition, no employee is permitted to work where hazards resulting from weakened or deteriorated floors, or walls, or loosened material exist until they are corrected by shoring, bracing, or other effective means:     a)  1301 13th. St., NW, Northeast corner of Building - On or about November 6, 2016, after partially demolishing seven 8 inch thick concrete floor decks, the project demolition contractor allowed the slabs to hang from damaged, horizontal rebar while workers were exposed to a struck-by hazard.    No abatement certification or documentation required for this item.
