29 CFR 1910.266(i)(6): The supervisor did not perform close supervision of a newly trained feller to ensure that the felling operation was properly performed. On or about 12/21/2016 at 543 Atlanta Road, Cumming, GA; a newly trained feller was not closely supervised when he was directed by the supervisor to perform a felling operation from a bucket truck. The supervisor had removed limbs from the trunk of the tree; exited the basket; and, directed to feller to complete the cuts and drop the section of the tree to the ground. The supervisor did not observe the cutting operation to ensure the newly trained feller properly performed the correct undercut, resulting in the section of the tree falling the wrong direction.
