29 CFR 1910.28(b)(1)(i): Open-sided floors and/or platforms four feet or more above adjacent floor or ground level were not guarded with standard railings (or equivalent). a) Loading docks - On or about January 20, 2017 and at times before, the employer exposed employees to fall hazards of 50 inches because the loading dock did not have standard railing along the side in that the railing had been damaged and two of the base flanges had been broken. a) Loading docks - On or about January 20, 2017 and at times before, the employer exposed employees to fall hazards of 50 inches because the loading dock did not have standard railing or chains to prevent employees from stepping off the dock. The post where chains would be attached had been broken off at sometime in the past.
