29 CFR 1910.303(b)(2): Listed or labeled equipment was not installed and/or used in accordance with any instructions included in the listing or labeling: a) Family Dollar Store #05956 in Franklin, PA, back stockroom. On or about December 28, 2016, Comfort Zone space heaters were used in the employee break area of the stockroom. The space heaters were not used in accordance with the listing/ labeling in that, cardboard boxes and other combustible items were stored less than 3 feet from the heaters, heaters were used without legs properly attached, and heaters were used while in elevated or unstable positions.

29 CFR 1910.334(b)(2): After a circuit was deenergized by a circuit protective device, the circuit was manually reenergized before it had been determined that the equipment and circuit could be safely energized: a) Family Dollar Store #05956 in Franklin, PA, back stockroom. On or about December 28, 2016, employees repeatedly reset the breaker manually when the circuit was deenergized by the protective device. The breaker was tripped repeatedly due to the overcurrent created by the Comfort Zone radiant space heaters, used on the same circuit as the microwave and mini-fridge in the employee break area.
