29 CFR 1910.215(b)(9): Guard for abrasive wheel machine where the operator stands in front of the machine was not constructed so that the peripheral protecting member could be adjusted to the constantly decreasing diameter of the wheel or the distance between the abrasive wheel periphery(s) and the adjustable tongue or the end of the safety guard peripheral member at the top exceeded one fourth inch:    Tool Room:  On, or about, January 5, 2017, the following off-hand grinders were not provided with properly adjusted tongue guards:  A.  Machine #78:  Stanley bench grinder, no tongue guard on the left side. B.  Machine #76:  Delta pedestal grinder, tongue guard adjusted 5/8 of an inch from the abrasive wheel.

29 CFR 1910.217(c)(3)(iii)(e): Safety distance(s)(Ds) from the presence sensing field to the point of operation of mechanical power press(es) were not greater than the distance determined by the formula specified at 29 CFR 1910.217(c)(3)(iii)(E)(e):    Press Room:  On, or about, January 5, 2017, the light curtain provided on Press #39, a L&J partial revolution mechanical power press, was measured to be 8 inches from the closest pinch point on the die.  The minimum safety distance, as measured using a stop time meter, was 9 inches.
