29 CFR 1926.21(b)(2): The employer did not instruct each employee in the recognition and avoidance of unsafe conditions and the regulations applicable to his/her environment to control or eliminate any hazards or other exposure to illness or injury:  a- 16, 20 & 30 Turin Avenue, Lakewood NJ: Several company employees at each jobsite were exposed to struck by hazards when working beneath company employees performing various framing activities or when working next to/along wall frame installation without the use of any head protection.  These employees had not received instructions from the employer regarding the recognition and avoidance of struck by hazards at the time of the worksite inspection.  Condition noted on or about 01/04/17.  NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM, FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b):   a- 16, 20 & 30 Turin Avenue, Lakewood NJ: Company employees at three different job sites were exposed to fall hazards, in excess of 23 feet to the ground surface, when they were performing various framing activities at unprotected edges, from atop wooden roof trusses, etc. without the use of the required fall protection.
