29 CFR 1910.37(a)(3): Exit route(s) were not kept free and unobstructed:    Location: In front of doorway between battery storage room and dock    The emergency exit route was blocked with a storage cart parked in an area that could impede safe egress in the event of a fire or other emergency. Employees were exposed to burns and/or fire hazards.     The U.S. Postal Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard [29 CFR 1910.37(a)(3)], which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1186652, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on December 13, 2016, with respect to a workplace located at 28201 Franklin Parkway, Santa Clarita, California 91383.    The U.S. Postal Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard [29 CFR 1910.37(a)(3)], which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1010032, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on April 7, 2015, with respect to a workplace located at 11251 Rancho Carmel Drive, San Diego, California 92199.

The U.S. Postal Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard [29 CFR 1910.178(p)(1)], which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1146372, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on November 1, 2016, with respect to a workplace located at 5555 Bandini Boulevard, Bell, California 90201.    --IN THE ALTERNATIVE--    29 CFR 1910.178(q)(7): Industrial trucks were not examined before being placed in service:    Location: FSS Building    The employer did not ensure that employees performed a pre-shift inspection before use on powered industrial vehicles, such as but not limited to the Toyota #16 forklift.
