29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed   a)  At 1551 Richland Rd., Auburn, Alabama:  On or about January 11, 2017 and at times prior; the employer allowed his employees to use an extension ladder to gain access to the roof and the rails of the ladder did not extend at least three feet above the landing to provide the employees safe access and exposing them to a fall hazard of 11 feet 8 inches to the ground below.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b):   a)  At 1551 Richland Rd., Auburn, Alabama:  On or about January 11, 2017 and at times prior; the employer allowed his employees to perform roofing activities on a high slope roof without using fall protection properly exposing his employees to a fall hazard of 10 feet 11 inches to the ground below.   THE ALEX ROOFING CO. WAS PREVIOUSLY CITED FOR A VIOLATION OF THIS OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARD OR ITS EQUIVALENT STANDARD 29 CFR 1926.501(B)(13), WHICH WAS CONTAINED IN OSHA INSPECTION NUMBER 1009886, CITATION NUMBER 1, ITEM NUMBER 1 AND WAS AFFIRMED AS A FINAL ORDER ON FEBRUARY 10, 2015, WITH RESPECT TO A WORKPLACE LOCATED AT LOT 118 MORGAN WOODS SUBDIVISION, AUBURN, ALABAMA.
