29 CFR 1910.101(b): The in-plant handling, storage, and utilization of all compressed gases in cylinders, portable tanks, rail tankcars, or motor vehicle cargo tanks were not in accordance with Compressed Gas Association Pamphlet P-1-1965, which is incorporated by reference as specified in CFR 1910.6: (a) The employer did not ensure that cylinders of compressed gases such as an oxy-fuel torch device was not stored in close proximity to a melting pot for metallic materials. In section 6.2.1 of CGA P-1-2008, Safe Handling of Compressed Gases In Containers, it states, "Flammable gases shall be stored in well-ventilated areas. Flammable gases shall be stored away from oxidizers, open flames, sparks, and other sources of heat or ignition."
