29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. Location: Concrete batch plant On or about 1/13/17, employees in the process of installing a new catwalk over a pre-existing catwalk did not utilize a fall protection system on either catwalk and were exposed to falls of greater than 17-feet, 2-inches. On 1/13/17, an employee stepped onto an un-guarded section of the old catwalk that had been previously cut to be removed and fell greater than 16-feet to the ground.
