On or about 01/18/2017, in the fabrication room, employees were using the Rolling band saw without an anti-restart device.

29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a. On or about 01/18/2017, employees were exposed to amputation and struck by hazards, in that, the Rigid drill press model # DP15501, S/N 051739351 and the Wilton drill press model 99120 did not have cup guards. b. On or about 01/18/2017, employees were exposed to an amputation hazard, in that the Rolling band saw did not have an adjustable guard leaving the blade exposed.
