29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:  a) Clausing Drill Press: On or about January 26, 2017 and times prior, employees used the Clausing Drill Press, Serial Number 509165, to drill holes in instrument cases to install wiring.  The rotating drill bit was not provided with a shield guard to prevent employee exposure to the flying chips and rotating parts.   b) High Speed Hammer Co. Drill Press:  On or about January 24, 2017 and times prior, employees used the High Speed Hammer Co Drill Press, Serial Number 26297, to drill holes in the channels of instruments. The rotating drill bit was not provided with a shield guard to prevent employee exposure to the flying chips and rotating parts.
