Employees were exposed to these and other hazards at the apartment complex under renovation.

On or about February 10, 2017, and at times prior thereto, multiple employees were not protected by hard hats while performing renovation work on the apartment complex, exposing the employees to the hazards of being struck by falling debris or construction materials.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b):    On or about February 10, 2017, and at times prior thereto, for work performed on the apartment complex under renovation employees were not protected from falls over 6 feet in two instances.    a. Two subcontracted workers were working on the rooftop installing shingles and neither of the employees were protected by any fall protection devices.   b. One subcontracted worker was taking down the balcony guard rails on the second floor of the apartment complex and was not protected by any fall protection devices.
