OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees The employer is failing to protect employees from struck by hazards associated with using unrated attachments below an overhead hoist. The most recent occurrence of this was observed at 4501 S. 36th St. Omaha, NE; where employees were using a company fabricated attachment to hoist components without a rated load capacity legibly marked on it. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable means of abatement would be to provide a lifting device, for use with the overhead hoist, in compliance with ASME 830.20-2013, Below-the-Hook Lifting Devices, Chapter 20-1, page 13, which requires legible marking of the lifting device rated load.
