29 CFR 1910.37(b)(1): Each exit route must be adequately lighted so that an employee with normal vision can see along the exit route. The employer is failing to protect employees from access and egress hazards associated with non-operational emergency lighting. the most recent example of this was found during the inspection of the facility at 1506 Hwy 69, Waco, NE; where the employer has employees working throughout the facility during normal and low light situations and the emergency routes and exits have emergency lights that failed testing during inspection due to faulty batteries. Instances include but are not limited to: i. Two separate emergency light boxes inside the walkway of Dryer number 3. ii. Two separate emergency light boxes inside the walkway of Dryer number 1. iii. Light box number 11-EL-W-Wall Platform; west wall platform in the Sheller basement. iv. Light box of the exit door between the packaging room and the hall to the break room. v. Light box on the stairway between the 3rd and 4th floor of the production building. vi. Light box number 139-EL:-S4.5-Stairs
