29 CFR 1926.651(c)(2): A stairway, ladder, ramp or other safe means of egress was not located in trench excavations that were 4 feet (1.22m) or more in depth so as to require no more than 25 feet (7.62m) of lateral travel for employees: a) On or about 3/2/17 at a sewer service project located in front of 211 - 213 E. 73rd Street, New York, New York; employees were in an excavation hand digging attempting to locate a damaged section of sewer pipe. The excavation was approximately 6' feet deep and there was no ladder, stairs or ramp in the excavation for egress. NO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

The excavation was approximately 6' feet deep with vertical walls and the employees were digging laterally underneath unsupported pavement and soil. NO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
