OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing injuries from an overloaded below the hook lifting device. (a) 15 Graybill Road, Leola Pennsylvania - Employees use a lifting device to lift burial vaults weighing approximately 1,800 pounds exposing them to crushing injuries. The employer did not ensure that the lifting device was marked with the load capacity to assure that it was adequate for lifting the weight of the vaults, on or about March 8, 2017. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
