29 CFR 1910.178(l): Operator training. 29 CFR 1910.178(l)(1): Safe operation. 29 CFR 1910.178(l)(1)(i): The employer shall ensure that each powered industrial truck operator is competent to operate a powered industrial truck safely, as demonstrated by the successful completion of the training and evaluation specified in this paragraph (l). On or about March 13, 2017, the employer had not developed a training and evaluation program to ensure the safe operation of powered industrial trucks. Employees who operate powered industrial trucks, such as a Hyster forklift, had not received training in safe operation of powered industrial trucks.
