29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:   (a) The Dalles Dam - Weld/Fabrication Shop: On or about March 6th, 2017 and at times prior thereto, the CSHO observed the stripper/guard installed in the opposite direction. Without the guard in place employees are exposed to injuries from the pinch point and flying chips.   The Army Corps of Engineers was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 730422, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 4/25/13 , with respect to a workplace located at The Dalles Dam.   Note: Abatement documentation required for this item.
