29 CFR 1910.36(g)(4): Objects that projected into the exit route reduced the width of the exit route to less than the minimum width requirements of exit routes. a) At the US Fish and Wildlife Service, Desert National Wildlife Refuge Complex, Administrative Officers office, back pack, posters and other materials prevented the exit door from being fully opened, thereby reducing it to less than 28 inches wide. Employees had to maneuver around the narrowed exit access thereby impeding egress. b) At the US Fish and Wildlife Service Wildlife Biologist's Office, picture frames and other materials prevented the exit door from being fully opened, thereby reducing it to less than the minimum requirements of exit route and impeding egress.

29 CFR 1910.36(g)(2): Exit access(es) were not at least 28 inches (71.1 cm) wide at all points. a) At the US Fish and Wildlife Service, Desert National Wildlife Refuge Complex, Management Analyst's office, file cabinets and furniture were obstructing the exit access, thereby reducing it to 20 inches wide. Employees had to maneuver around the narrowed exit access thereby impeding egress. b) At the Deputy Project Leader's office, desk and file cabinet were obstructing the exit access, thereby reducing it to 24 inches wide. c) At the Visitor Services Manager's office, desk and file cabinet were obstructing the exit access, thereby reducing it to 25 inches wide. The US Fish and Wildlife Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.36(g)(2), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 989548, citation number 2, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on 10/07/2014, with respect to a workplace located at USFWLS, 1340 Financial Blvd., STE 234, Reno, NV 89502.
