29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1):  Machine guarding was not provided to protect operators and other employees from hazards created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:       (a) The Ziegenfelder Company, Inc., at 400 Yuma St., Denver, CO 80204: On and before March 23, 2017, the employer did not ensure that machine guarding was provided to protect operators and other employees from hazards created by point of operation, in that the wrapper cutter area on the North Line exposed employees to shearing action hazards due to the process-line shears at the output of the machine. This condition exposed the employees to laceration and amputation hazards.       (b) The Ziegenfelder Company, Inc., at 400 Yuma St., Denver, CO 80204: On and before March 23, 2017, the employer did not ensure that machine guarding was provided to protect operators and other employees from hazards created by ingoing nip points, in that the mechanical drive area on the North Line next to the operator stations exposed employees to pinch point hazards due to the rotating metal gears on both sides of the machine. This condition exposed the employees to crushing and amputation hazards.       (c)  The Ziegenfelder Company, Inc., at 400 Yuma St., Denver, CO 80204: On and before March 23, 2017, the employer did not ensure that machine guarding was provided to protect operators and other employees from hazards created by rotating pinch points, in that the mechanical drive area on the North Line next to the operator stations exposed employees to rotating pinch point hazards due to the moving connecting rods on both sides of the machine. This condition exposed the employees to struck-by and crushing hazards.
