29 CFR 1910.140(c)(8): D-rings, snaphooks, and carabiners were not proof tested to a minimum tensile load of 3,600 pounds (16 kN) without cracking, breaking, or incurring permanent deformation. On or about March 21, 2017, employees were exposed to fall hazards from order pickers when the carabineers used on the order pickers to attach the wind-up and harnesses were made of aluminum. The manufacturer's instructions said that the carabineer was proof tested to 2,500 pounds. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).
