29 CFR 1910.252(c)(3)(i): The employer did not provide freely movable hoods intended to be placed by the welder as near as practicable to the work being welded that provided a rate of air-flow sufficient to maintain a velocity in the direction of the hood of 100 linear feet (30 meters) per minute in the zone of welding when the hood was at its most remote distance from the point of welding. Location: Welding Area Employees were exposed to welding fumes where the hoods provided did not provide a rate of air-flow sufficient to maintain a velocity in the direction of the hood of 100 linear feet (30 meters) per minute and were not moveable to adequately pull the fumes and gases away from the welder's breathing zone.
