29 CFR 1910.132(a): Protective equipment was not used when necessary whenever hazards capable of causing injury and impairment were encountered: a). On or about 3/21/17, in the Shed Bldg 849 S, for employees handling 50lbs soda ash. Employees add soda ash 2xday for 5-10 minutes. Employees are provided with PPE such as an N95, nitrile gloves, and safety glasses/goggles on a voluntary basis. Per the SDS, soda ash causes serious eye irritation. The PPE is not required.

On or about 3/21/17, in the Shed Bldg 849 S, for employees working in the shed to handle 50lbs soda ash, 2xday for 5-10 minutes. The floor and equipment is covered with Soda Ash dust.
