The employer did not certify to OSHA that the cited violation has been abated for the jobsite located at 1415 E. Boonville, Sedalia, MO 65301. The employer was required to submit certification by October 18, 2018.

29 CFR 1910.134(c)(2)(i): Respirator users were not provided with the information contained in Appendix D to 29 CFR 1910.134 when the employer determined that any voluntary respirator use was permissible: Employees that wear respirator as a voluntary use for dust and fiber dust were exposed to physical stress cause by the burden of using a respirator without the proper knowledge. Employees working in the lay up and the assembly area were exposed to hazardous chemical while applying adhesive/ resin and polishing fiber glass. The employer did not provide to the affected employees that wear respirator on a voluntary bases the information contained in Appendix D of the respiratory standard.

29 CFR 1910.138(a): The employer did not select and require employee(s) to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands were exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasion; punctures; chemical burns; thermal burns; and harmful temperature extremes. Employees were exposed to chemical hazards. Employees working in the assembly area were exposed to hazardous chemicals while applying adhesive/resin to fiberglass. The employer did not require employees to use personal protective equipment such as chemical resistant gloves.
