29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Meat Market- On or about April 19, 2017, the employer did not ensure that the guard was properly adjusted to cover all unused portions of the saw blade on the Hobart vertical bandsaw, Model #6614. An employee sustained an amputation to the tip of the left middle finger on April 11, 2017. b) Meat Market- On or about April 19, 2017, the employer did not ensure that the guard was properly designed to cover all sides of unused portions of the saw blade, including the back end, on the Hobart vertical bandsaw Model #6614.
