29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure. a. On or about May 03, 2017, an employee performing roofing removal / installation at 602 W. 12th Street Rock Falls, Illinois was exposed to fall hazards of up to nine (9) feet while working on the roof. The employer failed to ensure fall protection was provided and utilized. No abatement certification documentation is not required for this item.

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The employer shall provide a training program for each employee who might be exposed to fall hazards. The program shall enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and shall train each employee in the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards: On or about May 03, 2017, an employee performing residential roofing operations at 602 W. 12th Street, Rock Falls, Illinois, was exposed to an 9' foot fall while the employer failed to ensure that adequate training had been provided to recognize the hazards associated with working at elevation. Abatement documentation is required of this item in accordance with requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
