29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1)(i): The employer did not select and have each affected employee use, the types of personal protective equipment that would protect the affected employee(s) from the hazards identified in the hazard assessment: Location: Plating Room An employee was dipping metal parts into tanks containing corrosive and toxic chemicals, and he was wearing a short-sleeve shirt, exposing his skin to splashes. Solutions/Products Contained the Following Chemicals with Skin Hazards: 1) Hydrofluoric Acid: Severely corrosive and capable of causing severe systemic health conditions 2) Sulfuric Acid: Corrosive 3) Muriatic Acid-Corrosive 3) Chromates: Skin ulcers and nasal septum ulcers and perforations; allergic contact dermatitis 4) Sodium hydroxide: Caustic 5) Nickel: Sensitizers 6) Zinc Chloride: Chemical burns
