On or about May 3, 2017 at 30-08 30th Avenue, Astoria, NY 11102    An employee used a Biro Mfg. vertical band saw inside of the basement meat preparation room to cut thin pork chops into sections.  The machine's blade guard was positioned approximately eleven (11) inches above the table surface with the height of the meat measuring to be four (4) inches.  The exposed unused blade portion measured at seven (7) inches exposed the employee to amputation hazards.
