29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(6): Ladders shall be used only on stable and level surfaces unless secured to prevent accidental displacement.     a. On or about May 08, 2017, at the above referenced worksite, employees were required to gain access / egress to the next higher surface of a roof in the performance of their assigned duties. The employer failed to ensure that the ladder used was secured to prevent accidental displacement in accordance with this OSHA standard. Employees were thereby exposed to a fall of approximate 7 feet to the next lower level.     No abatement certification or documentation is required for this item.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): "Residential construction." Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure.     On or about May 08, 2017, employees performing residential roofing installation operations at a residential property were exposed to a 24' foot fall hazard when the employer failed to ensure fall protection was utilized.      No abatement certification or documentation is required for this item.
