29 CFR 1926.701(b): All protruding reinforcing steel, onto and/or into which employees could fall or come against, was not guarded to eliminate the hazard of impalement:    On or about May 12, 2017, at work site located at 88-08 Justice Avenue, Elmhurst, NY 11373    Employees working on the construction of a steel rebar framework being prepared in advance of the pouring of concrete to construct the building slab and columns were exposed to an impalement hazard when carrying bundles of rebar past uncapped vertical rebar which was in place to form reinforced concrete columns. The uncapped rebar was approximately chest/stomach height for the employees walking over the slab rebar framework.    ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED PURSUANT TO 29 CFR 1903.19.
