29 CFR 1910.95(b)(1): When employees were subjected to sound exceeding those listed in Table G-16, feasible administrative or engineering controls were not utilized: On or about June 5, 2017, a 3M Edge Dosimeter (sn: ESN070247) was placed on an employee performing finishing operations for a total of 477 minutes. The employee was exposed to noise at 296.6% of the permissible daily noise exposure level (8-hour time-weighted average sound level of 90 dbA or equivalently, a dose of 100 percent), with an equivalent time-weighted average sound level of 97.8 dBA. Exposure calculations include a zero increment for the 3 minutes not sampled. b. On or about June 5, 2017, a 3M Edge Dosimeter (sn: ESN070248) was placed on an employee performing finishing operations for a total of 475 minutes. The employee was exposed to noise at 269.7% of the permissible daily noise exposure level (8-hour time-weighted average sound level of 90 dbA or equivalently, a dose of 100 percent), with an equivalent time-weighted average sound level of 97.1 dBA. Exposure calculations include a zero increment for the 5 minutes not sampled. c. On or about June 5, 2017, a 3M Edge Dosimeter (sn: ESN070249) was placed on an employee performing finishing operations for a total of 473 minutes. The employee was exposed to noise at 194.1% of the permissible daily noise exposure level (8-hour time-weighted average sound level of 90 dbA or equivalently, a dose of 100 percent), with an equivalent time-weighted average sound level of 94.7 dBA. Exposure calculations include a zero increment for the 7 minutes not sampled. d. On or about June 5, 2017, a 3M Edge Dosimeter (sn: ESN070250) was placed on an employee performing finishing operations for a total of 468 minutes. The employee was exposed to noise at 1615.3% of the permissible daily noise exposure level (8-hour time-weighted average sound level of 90 dbA or equivalently, a dose of 100 percent), with an equivalent time-weighted average sound level of 110 dBA. Exposure calculations include a zero increment for the 12 minutes not sampled. e. On or about June 5, 2017, a 3M Edge Dosimeter (sn: ESN070251) was placed on an employee performing finishing operations for a total of 466 minutes. The employee was exposed to noise at 633.9 % of the permissible daily noise exposure level (8-hour time-weighted average sound level of 90 dbA or equivalently, a dose of 100 percent), with an equivalent time-weighted average sound level of 103.3 dBA. Exposure calculations include a zero increment for the 14 minutes not sampled. The employer had not implemented engineering or administrative controls to reduce employee exposure below the permissible exposure limit of 90 dbA.
