29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.   a) The roof of 69 Glen Rd. Eastchester, NY 10709:  Employees working on a roof approximately 40 feet high were not protected from falling while installing rubber roofing material on the edge of a flat roof with a parapet wall that was approximately 1 ft. high.  Condition noted on or about 05/16/17.    NOTE: BECAUSE ABATEMENT OF THIS VIOLATION IS ALREADY DOCUMENTED IN THE INSPECTION CASE FILE, THE EMPLOYER NEED NOT SUBMIT CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT FOR THIS VIOLATION AS NORMALLY REQUIRED BY 29 CFR 1903.19.

Eastchester, NY 10709:  The employer did not provide training on recognition and avoidance of fall hazards to employees who were working on a roof 40 ft. above the ground.
