29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): "Unprotected sides and edges." Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. On or about 05/10/2017, at the jobsite at 844 New Ballas Court, Creve Coeur, MO, employees engaged in decking installation operations were not properly utilizing conventional fall protection. The employees were exposed to an approximately 38' 6" fall to the ground below on three sides of the building and 49' 4" fall on the remaining side.
