The employer must ensure handrails, stair rail systems, and guardrail systems are provided in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.28. a) Office: The 36 inch wooden staircase with 10 treads leading to the upper office area and storage mezzanine was not equipped with a stair railing on the left side ascending on or about May 31, 2017 Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date, and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
