29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1): The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment (PPE): (a) Evisceration Department - The employer did not adequately assess the workplace to determine that face shields were necessary to be worn, in addition to goggles, when employees used the "3022" chemical which contained sodium hydroxide and sodium hypochlorite when sanitizing equipment, on or about May 31, 2017. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- AVD CHANGED BY ISA ON 7/7/17 The employer did not adequately assess the workplace to determine that adequate face protection was worn, in addition to goggles, when employees used the 3022 chemical which contained sodium hydroxide and sodium hypochlorite when sanitizing equipment, on or about May 31, 2017.
