Where employees provide their own protective equipment, the employer shall be responsible to assure its adequacy, including proper maintenance, and sanitation of such equipment. Location: Franklin Pierce University, campus wide floor stripping activities On or about 5/24/2017 where employees who are responsible for providing their own work boots, the employer did not assure the adequacy of employee owned footwear for EVS workers was adequate to provide protection from slip hazards while performing tasks associated with floor stripping duties.

29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(6): The employer did not ensure that each container of hazardous chemicals in the workplace was labeled, tagged or marked with the information specified under paragraphs (f)(6)(i) through (ii) of this section: Location: Franklin Pierce University, storage closet, Petrocelli Hall On or about 6/1/2017 the employer did not ensure that containers used for floor finishing processes were labeled or tagged with the identity of the chemical within, Brite Eyes Wet Look Premium Grade Floor Finish. Employees used the floor finish from a blue rolling mop bucket, and store the container unmarked inside of a maintenance closet with no markings indicating the identity of the contents.
