29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): "Residential construction." Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure. a. On or about June 6, 2017, at the construction site located at Building # 22 at The Village at Olentangy Crossing, Lewis Center, Ohio, employees were performing roofing work on a new two story multiple unit condominium building with a pitch up to approximately 8 in 12 and up to approximately 20 feet in height with no fall protection, thereby exposing the employees to a fall hazard. Fabulous Roofing & Home Improvement was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 926886, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on October, 23, 2013, with respect to a workplace located at 8333-8347 Bruntsfield Road, building #15, Columbus, Ohio 43235.
