29 CFR 1926.760(a)(1): Each employee engaged in a steel erection activity who is on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge more than 15 feet (4.6 m) above a lower level was not protected from fall hazards by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, positioning device systems, or fall restraint systems. a) A.V. Lake Construction Co. on or about June 06, 2017, at the address of 1801 George St. Sandusky, OH: The employer did not ensure employees were adequately protected from falls during steel erection activities. Employees installing ridge cap material atop a steel framed structure at heights up to 31 feet 10 inches were not utilizing conventional forms of fall protection and were exposed to falls.
